Smart Phone App Programming
Tues, July 26 & Wed, July 27, 2011
9:00am - 3:00pm
This work fair would be aimed at teachers interested in doing Smart Phone App programming either for a CSE project course or as an add-on to an Internet Computing Course. Participants would look at curricular fit, a set of possible projects and would actively develop one or more sample mobile applications. AppInventor for Google Android will be featured. In addition, cross platform application programming will be done using HTML and JavaScript.
CSE for teachers new to CS
Wed, August 3 & Thurs, August 4, 2011

This fair would concentrate on helping teachers plan a "do-able" CS program or pathway, assess some of the available resources, work out how those resources could be used in class and assemble/build materials for their courses that use those resources.
Robotics and CSE
Tues, August 9 & Wed, August 10, 2011
9:00am - 3:00pm
Participants would look at how robotics fits into the CSE curriculum, look at some sample implementations and work with at least one robotic environment. While the focus would likely be on using the RobotC programming environment, work could be done in NXT-G if that reflected participant needs. Participants would also have a chance to "play" with some of the newer areas of interest such as the Arduino logic/robotics system.
Introductory/Intermediate Java in CSE

Java is the student language for both the IB and AP honours programs. In addition it is an important student language at the post secondary level. For this reason most CS programs at the high school level try to incorporate at least some Java. This work fair would be for teachers relatively new to Java and would focus on using Java to implement Intermediate level (2XXX) courses.
Advanced Java in CSE
Thurs, August 18 & Fri, August 19, 2011

This work fair would be aimed at teachers wishing to use Java at the Advanced (3XXX) level and would look at some of the areas covered by the AP and IB CS curricula.
