UAlberta Cares
#UAlbertaCares Video Series
The #UAlbertaCares video series highlights mental health strategies, and explores various challenges and specific resources available to UAlberta students, faculty, and staff. This video project was created by students in the Peter Lougheed Leadership College (PLLC) who participated in the Foundations of Leadership course (INT D 301), and was produced in partnership with the Office of the Dean of Students.
Working with a professional production team and connecting with stakeholders across our U of A campuses, students with the PLLC developed the video series. The filming involved a lot of work and creativity when showcasing elements of mental wellness, including shooting a scene in a swimming pool to using a drone. For an overview of the video series, watch the #UAlbertaCares trailer.
Encouraging Dialogue About Mental Health
This video series is available to the public and includes an introduction, a conclusion, and four separate videos that address undergraduate students, graduate students, university staff, and faculty.
Individuals who want to access and share this series as a way to promote de-stigmatizing suicide and informing campus mental health dialogues are encouraged to mix and match the videos to meet the needs of their audience(s). A PDF facilitator’s guide is also available to assist individuals in facilitating a community conversation about mental health.
