Verna Tate Graduate Award

Thanks to a generous and thoughtful donation, our department will be able to provide a $10,000 given annually to a self-identified female graduate student. This endowed award will be named after the late Verna Tate whose energy and enthusiasm for life inspired all of four of her children to live life to the fullest. She encouraged her children to strive for their dreams and this award aims to give generations of young self-identified females the ability to pursue their passion in an area of science in need of greater representation.
